Alpha-E Pro

Alpha-E Pro

On-site ion beam capability. On demand. Without the shared facility queue.

Alpha-E Pro is a bench-scale D-D fusion accelerator designed for research groups that need dedicated, on-site ion beam access — for detector calibration, low-flux activation analysis, materials irradiation studies, and fusion demonstration experiments.

Your experiments. Your schedule. Your lab.

Access to particle accelerators for research often requires scheduling time on oversubscribed shared facilities — infrastructure that is expensive to maintain and unavailable to many research programs entirely. Alpha-E Pro offers a different model: a bench-scale, on-site accelerator dedicated to a single research group's experimental needs, operated on demand, integrated with their detection and data acquisition setups.

For groups whose experimental applications fall within Alpha-E Pro's flux range, the operational flexibility and accessibility advantages are significant: the ability to run experiments at 10pm, iterate on a detector design overnight, and return to the same conditions the following morning.

Purpose-built for the applications it is designed to serve.

Alpha-E Pro is optimized for low-flux applications where signal-to-noise quality, detector access, and experimental reproducibility matter more than raw output. The system is designed so that samples can be positioned very close to the neutron source, and the modular target assembly allows exchange in ambient atmosphere without disrupting the system's vacuum — practical advantages that matter for research groups running repeated experiments.

The device supports D-D fusion (2.5 MeV neutrons) and an optional p-B11 fusion add-on at higher beam energies. A range of detector configurations — semiconductor, scintillator, cloud chamber, CR-39 — can be integrated through standard CF-2.75" vacuum flanges.

Commercial grade support. Reproducible results. No in-house engineering burden.

Most compact neutron sources in university settings are custom-built by the research group itself — which means the device knowledge walks out the door when a graduate student graduates, maintenance is the research group's problem, and reproducibility across experimental runs is difficult to document. Alpha-E Pro is a commercial instrument with a defined service relationship, formal documentation, and a vendor accountable for device performance.

Published peer-reviewed research demonstrates reproducible Alpha-E performance across multiple experimental configurations. Alpha Ring can provide application notes, technical specifications, and references from groups who have used the device for comparable applications.

*"A perfect fusion research tool."*

Tell us what you are trying to measure

Alpha-E Pro is configured around your application. We want to understand your flux requirements, your detector needs, and how you are currently accessing ion beam capability before we talk about what Alpha-E Pro can do for you. If it's the right fit, we'll tell you. If it's not, we'll tell you that too.
